Kara visual development (ViT, Codex Regius)

The next Valkyrie was supposed to be Brynhildr, but I'm not done coloring her yet so here's Kara since I already designed her.
Kara's name means "the wild, stormy one" or "the curly one" so in ViT she gets powers to control storms and tempests. She's a glass cannon and always quiet and unintentionally aggressive and unfriendly; in the Poetic Edda, she was the reincarnation of Sigrun and the daughter of King Halfdan Scylding, who was related to Scyld Scyfing, and the father of King Hrothgar (the king in Beowulf), Halga, and a daughter named Kara.
In ViT, Kara was murdered by Halga because she wanted Hrothgar to be successor despite being the youngest. Kara lived as a spirit in Hel for a while but was given a deal by Odin to become a Valkyrie and exact revenge on Halga. She's based on the great northern loon, and I think she's probably one of my favorites to design considering I've been drawing her so much lately.
